Objectives

  • To empower Regional Development Authorities as the leading agencies in regional development.
  • To empower Land Development Authorities as the best agencies in land development, agriculture and developing small holders.
  • To create balance and sustainable regional and rural area development with the involvement of agencies under the Ministry.

Function

Land Development Unit (T)

  • To monitor and coordinate the policy and development strategies planning for LDAs;
  • To coordinate the program/project planning by LDAs;
  • To monitor and evaluate programs/projects and activities of LDAs;
  • To coordinate and seek cooperation, support and involvement of the Agency/Ministry engaged for matters involving LDAs;
  • To provide advice and support related to programs/projects of LDAs;
  • To coordinate the preparation of Cabinet papers on the Annual Report and Financial Statements of RISDA and the presentation in Parliament;
  • To monitor the compliance with policies and guidelines of LDAs;
  • To coordinate the budget needs by LDAs;
  • To coordinate security matters and records department in Division; and
  • To coordinate any complaints regarding program/project of Land and Regional Development Division.

 

Regional Development Unit (W)

Regional Development Authorities (RDAs)

  • To monitor and coordinate the policy and development strategies planning in the area of RDAs;
  • To coordinate the program/project planning by RDAs;
  • To monitor, detect, investigate and evaluate programs/projects and activities of RDAs;
  • To coordinate and seek cooperation, support and involvement of the Agency/Ministry engaged for matters involving RDAs;
  • To provide advice and support related to programs/projects of RDAs;
  • To coordinate the preparation of Cabinet papers on the Annual Report and Financial Statements of RDAs and the presentation in Parliament;
  • To monitor the compliance with policies and guidelines of RDAs;
  • To coordinate the preparation of studies related to  RDAs according to the current needs;
  • To coordinate the budget needs by RDAs;

 

Administration

  • To manage administrative, service and financial matters of division.

 

Area Development Unit (K)

  • To provide planning of Area Development Program (PPK);
  • To draft and determine development policy and execution of PPK;
  • To coordinate and examine applications of newly proposed projects under PPK;
  • To coordinate and monitor on the implementations of PPK projects;
  • To plan and to conduct evaluation on the effectiveness of PPK projects;
  • To prepare budget and control the financial of PPK projects; and
  • To engage and seek cooperation with stakeholders to smoothen the implementation of PPK Projects.

 

Agropolitan Unit (G)

  • To monitor and coordinate Ministry’s High Impact Projects (HIP) conducted by Dedicated Team;
  • To plan and conduct evaluation on Ministry’s HIP;
  • To train Program Managers/Dedicated Team on project monitoring methods/techniques;
  • To draft and update policies of PLMLB;
  • To ensure the implementation of HIP in line with Ministry’s aspiration;
  • To prepare and update latest information regarding problems and issues of each projects to management of Ministry, National Implementation Directorate (NID) and National Implementation Task Force (NITF) periodically;
  • To plan Ministry’s High Impact Projects and; and
  • To ensure best practices in line with the methodology outlined in Programme and Project Management (PPM) can be carried out continuously to the task of monitoring and reporting the status of implementation of the program / project can be provided within the prescribed period.
