Housing Assistance Programme (PBR)
  1. What are the terms or eligibility to obtain PBR?
    • Families that earn monthly income below the current Poverty Line Income (PLI), and are registered with theNational Poverty Data Bank (e-Kasih);Hardcore Poverty (MT) that is unproductive such as Head of Household (HOH) aged 65 years old and above or bed-ridden or incapacitated;Single parent with many dependents;Victims of natural disasters such as storms, typhoons, floods and fires; andThe MT or poor that has been confirmed not in possession of a house or available house which is certified decrepit, dilapidated, or unsafe for occupancy.What are the application procedures and the documents that must be compiled with the application?
  2. The PBR applicant needs to complete the Application Form (obtainable from the Ministry’s website: www.rurallink.gov.my)
  3. PBR application requires attachment of these documents :
    • Identification Card and HOH’s Birth Certificate and the household;
    • Applicant’s house photographs (from various angles);
    • Marriage Certificate (for applicants who are married and aged 35 years old and below); and
    • Permission Form to use land (for applicants who do not have land and occupying on other’s land/Government’s land to build/restore house on the piece of land). This Permission Form is prepared by the Ministry.
  4. Completed application is to be submitted to district offices/district Focus Group/Rural and Regional Authority for consideration and verification. Applicant’s name will be registered in the e-Kasih system.
  5. The PBR application can also be submitted directly to the Ministry. The Ministry will refer to relevant parties at the state/district level beforehand prior to approval.
