Objective

  • The goals of the Rural Industries Programme are to develop the rural industry sector in line with the National Industrial Policy and to contribute towards an economic growth that is more productive and sustainable. Concurrently, it is hoped that the involvement and participation of rural communities would be heightened specifically in creating a dynamic, competitive and resilient rural entrepreneurial community that would contribute towards creating a Bumiputera Trade and Industries Community (MPPB).

Function

Business Development Unit

  • Plan and prepare policy and implementation strategy regarding business development and Rural Business Challenge (RBC) Programme; and
  • Plan and carry out the hosting of RBC Competition yearly.

 

Youth Entrepreneurship Unit

  • Plan, coordinate, monitor and report the implementation of the project Pemenang Program RBC;
  • Plan and coordinate the distribution of business grants for the implementation of Pemenang Program RBC; and
  • Coordinate the planning and the implementation of RBC development programmes and supporting activities.

 

Business Funding Unit

  • Plan and prepare policy and strategic implementation on business subsidies and loans;
  • Plan and execute the processing of SPED applications, evaluation of business development, decide the outcome of applications through SPED Committee and the issuance of SPED loans together with Implementating Bank; and
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of SPED programmes and supporting activities.

 

Finance Initiative Unit

  • Plan and prepare policy and implementation strategy regarding financial initiatives; and
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of hypermarket programmes and small and medium business (PKS) initiatives.

 

Economics Development Unit

  • Plan and prepare policy and implementation strategy on economics development; and
  • Plan and organize Rural Entrepreneurship Carnival (KUD) and Mini KUD.

 

Community Development Unit

  • Plan and prepare policy and strategic implementation of Desa Lestari Program (PDL);
  • Plan, coordinate and execute evaluation activities for selection of villages to be listed under PDL; and
  • Plan and organise PDL competitions.

 

Cooperative Development Unit

  • Plan, coordinate, monitor and report the implementation of projects under PDL;
  • Plan and coordinate funding applications and the distribution of allocations for implementing PDL; and
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of PDL development programmes and supporting activities.

 

Economic Initiative Unit

  • Plan and prepare policy and implementation strategy on economic initiatives; and
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of ‘Satu Daerah Satu Industri’ (SDSI) program, Mini KUD and Halfest.

 

Mobilepreneur and PLKK Unit

  • To prepare working paper for Usahawan Bergerak (Mobilepreneur) programme;
  • To plan the budget for Program Mobilepreneur;
  • To plan and coordinate Program Mobilepreneur;
  • To study the Outcome of Program Mobilepreneur;
  • To study the Outcome of Program Mobilepreneur and PPMI and update SPP II; and
  • To hold short, medium and long term courses in cooperation with agencies under the ministry (PLKK).

 

Coordination, Administration and Finance Unit

  • Plan and coordinate the administrative affairs of the unit;
  • Plan, coordinate and prepare financial management of Development Division Budget and Management Division Budget;
  • Coordinate reports, feedback and complaints regarding rural economic programmes and activities being implemented at ministry level and agency/other ministries;
  • Coordinate and prepare answers for parliament session;
  • Plan and coordinate system SPPII;
  • Manage office assets and inventory; and
  • Manage the safety of records, files and office.
